Managing Data Uploads

Whether this is your first CRM, or you’re migrating from a previous system, uploading your data correctly is essential to your success.

Migrating and uploading data is one of the first steps you'll need to take when configuring your Daily AI setup. Your data is the backbone of all future work that you'll run through our platform. Getting it right the first time is important.

This article will provide step-by-step instructions on how  to upload your contacts, partners, and transactions using .csv files. (Not familiar with .csv files? Take a look at this guide.)

Daily AI comes pre-configured with typical CRM data fields, such as "First Name," "Last Name," "Company Name," etc. If your process includes data fields that don't yet exist in your Daily AI build, we offer the ability to create custom fields. This ensures no data is left behind during a migration.

In most cases, your previous system will have an export option to download your database as a CSV.  If this option is not available, talk to the support team. They should be able to produce a copy for you.

How to Upload Data to Daily AI

  1. First, determine what type of data you are uploading.
    1. Loan data: Upload the .csv on the Transactions page.
    2. Referral partners or buying/listing agents: Upload the .csv on the Partners page.
    3. All other contacts: Upload the .csv on the Contacts page.
  2. Once you've reached the appropriate page., click “CSV” or "Upload CSV" in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Selecting the correct file from your computer. You may also drag and drop the file directly into the box.
  4. If you're uploading a Contact .csv, select who the contacts should be assigned to.  Click “Done.”
  5. Now you'll need to ensure your .csv fields map correctly to Daily AI. Click the Daily AI field that best fits your .csv column heading. Check your work.
  6. Click “Continue” to upload the data.
  7. Once complete, an upload summary will appear in the bottom left of the screen.  If any records failed to upload, click “View Failed” for a report of why a record failed, and repeat the process if needed.

Warning: Each type of data upload has different required fields. These must be mapped to successfully upload the file. Most records that fail to upload are missing a required field.

Tip: When mapping, the column headings of your .csv file are on the left.  The Daily AI field you are mapping to is on the right.

Tip: If you have previously uploaded this type of CSV before, you will be asked if you want to pre-fill the mapping.
